We have finally found that place we were looking for. After rejoining with some friends on other boats , “ God Speed” , “ Ocean Lady”,  “Willow” , “ Tara” , and  “ Serana” we came across Punta Galera. Our guide books didn’t say much of this spot besides it was an insufficient anchorage with no facilities. As it turned out, like many times, the guide book was ass backwards. Here we found very friendly locals, supplies, a nice place to beach the panga up the river, and best of all a perfect right-hand surf break. This wave broke consistently for the 12 days we were there. A ride could be as long as 100 yards or more where you end up walking down the beach, grab a cold cerveza at a palapa, walk out to the end of the jetty, and  then plunge back into the line-up.  Aahhh!!.. Paradise. The small town was located on and island in an amazing lagoon system. When our arms became rubber bands from surfing we took a trip on “ Get Lost” up the river and through the mangroves. An all day adventure and we only scratched the surface of the awesome lagoon system.  Within the 12 days we were able to make good relationships with some of the locals. These locals had so little in possessions but so much in life. Their genuine smiles everyday showed everything, they were living in paradise.
